I am being totally paranoid with this commit, but even though recfm and convert
are no longer used in the RTCOPY protocol, this commit sets recfm to be "F" and convert to be 4 which means ASCCONV. This commit would help to protect somebody who managed to run different versions of tapebridged, rtcpd and taped together.
