Build fails when not using git
I've been trying to package ASAP:O for my Linux distribution and chose the "archive" to download the ASAPO sources. Namely:
https://gitlab.desy.de/asapo/asapo/-/archive/${version}/asapo-${version}.tar.gz
With ${version}
being 23.11.1. This fails to build because:
fatal: not a git repository (or any of the parent directories): .git
CMake Error at CMakeIncludes/prepare_version_tag.cmake:39 (string):
string sub-command STRIP requires two arguments.
Call Stack (most recent call first):
CMakeLists.txt:59 (include)
Not a big deal, but for people packaging the software, it's a bit nicer to have this handled without a git dependency.
